The FFDS at a glance
The Türkiye FFDS is hosted at Vardarli, an intensive Assaf dairy sheep farm. It evaluates solutions for heat-stress resilience, focusing on animal welfare, heat-stress response, and productivity under real-world farming conditions.
The demonstration combines animal stratification based on genotype and targeted interventions proposed by the DST.

Heat-Stress Resilience Stratification
Animals are classified into heat stress-susceptible and heat stress-resilient groups based on their genotypes.

Genotyping
Genotyping is performed using RUMINATE’s developed genetic marker panel.

Nutritional and management interventions proposed by the DST are applied to enhance heat resilience under intensive dairy sheep farming conditions.
