At Stremble (STR), our role in the RUMINATE project is to act as the core data and bioinformatics engine. We are responsible for organizing and harmonizing massive amounts of “big data,” which includes complex multi-omics information like animal genetics and gut microbiomes. By bringing all these different data streams together so they can seamlessly work as one, we build the crucial foundation needed to understand how livestock interact with their surroundings. 

Building on this harmonized data, our team creates advanced predictive models that focus specifically on gene-by-environment interactions. These models map out exactly how an animal’s unique genetic makeup reacts to different climates, diets, and farm management practices. This advanced data modeling provides the underlying intelligence required to build practical, climate-smart tools that help lower methane emissions and improve heat resilience.
