McGill University is a world-renowned institution (#27 QS global ranking) widely recognized for excellence in training, research and technology transfer. Through the McGill Centre for the Convergence of Health and Economics and the Global Food Security Institute, the University has actively engaged its resources in addressing the challenges of food security, nutrition,sustainability and their trade-offs.
Role in the project:
McGill will systematically assess the environmental performance, eco-efficiency, and sustainability of the implemented genomic, nutritional, and management innovations by conducting a marginal abatement cost analysis alongside a rigorous Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Following LEAP guidelines and ISO 14040/44/45 protocols, we will compile a comprehensive Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) of inputs and outputs for both baseline and post-intervention scenarios across a standard four-step LCA framework. Ultimately, this analysis will quantify environmental improvements and trade-offs, with results interpreted to evaluate system resilience, sustainability, and scalability.
